Here we are then. It’s yet another dull day in Britain (or at least in Essex it is!) so what better to cheer up than some good tunes? Unfortunately, my pimping 52 reg fiesta is out of action today as some numpty bumped into the back of me on the M25. I know, I know, many of you are thinking that I’m wanted for double homicide (I got knocked into the jag in front as well) but no. Instead I am firmly stuck at home due to the boot not locking and the car driving weirdly… Anyway, I digress. You did not come here to hear about my life. So here’s a couple of nuggets for you to while away the time with…
First up, we have one of my favourite finds of the year, (yet another) a wicked remix of Florence and the Machine. This juicy dubstep is courtesy of a Slof Man & Elkat collaboration. Nice and melodic, this track shows that you don’t need to ruin the foundations of your house to produce a solid dubstep track. Now I have to admit that this isnt a track that I found myself but I can’t remember who for the life of me sent me the youtube video of it. Whoever you are, consider yourself thanked by myself and hopefully by the people who are listening. Enjoy.
Up next, a nice liquid drum and bass tune by DJ Druid. Perfect for pre/post-party listning, driving, nursing a hang over, peeling a potato, scrubbing the floor, replacing lightbulbs….you get the idea.
Now for a couple of funky hip-hop tracks by A Tribe Called Quest, Organized Konfusion (also featuring Q-Tip and OC I believe) and Rodney P. Proper curb crawlers.
